rabbits, fish, and birds. oh my!

The other day when I was walking through the woods, I saw a rabbit standing in front of a candle making shadows of people on a tree.   Stephen Wright

Magic Mirror: Our first bachelorette is a mentally abused shut-in from a kingdom far, far away. She likes sushi and hot-tubbing any time. Her hobbies include cooking and cleaning for her two evil sisters. Let's hear it for Cinderella! Bachelorette number two is a cape-wearing girl from the Land of Fantasy. Although she lives with seven other men, she's not easy. Just kiss her frozen, dead lips and find out what a live wire she is. Give it up for Snow White! And last but not least is a fiery redhead who lives in a dragon-guarded castle surrounded by a boiling lake of lava. But don't let that cool you off. She's a loaded pistol who likes piña coladas and getting caught in the rain. Yours for the rescuing, Princess Fiona!   "Shrek"

One morning I shot an elephant in my pajamas. How he got into my pajamas I'll never know.

This was entertaining! I miss the flea markets up there. Glad you are enjoying them. Down here the flea markets consist of tube socks and the latest plastic dinnerware. ; )

Dinnerware:Still pink with light blue flowers. or ducks with a blue ribbon around the neck. Tube socks are cotton but wear out after a few washes. Ha! Yes, I bought them. Still debating the plastic ware.

  5. Hello Jane,

Love the Magic Mirror and I love flea markets. I missed the big one in Dallas this past March. BUT, there is a flea market in Denton which I hope to get to go to sometime soon.

    Happy July 4!

    Feeling somewhat better!

A is for Aspirin and ASS. It's beginning to feel a lot like the 1950's for women these days. Case in point, Foster Friess. He's the primary supporter of a pro-Santorum super political action committee. He  suggested on MSNBC that women use Bayer aspirin as a contraceptive.  Wow.  “This contraceptive thing, my gosh, it’s so expensive,” he told host Andrea Mitchell . “Back in my days, they used Bayer aspirin for contraceptives. The gals put it between their knees and it wasn’t that costly.” In case your not completely clear on Satorum's view on contraception: Santorum has said that he is "not a believer in birth control" and believes it is "harmful" to both women and society.  And in October, Santorum discussed the "dangers" of contraception with an evangelical blog. "Many in the Christian faith have said, 'Well, that's okay. Contraception's okay," he said. "It...

On any given day

I wake up with one face. Fall asleep with another. I love faces. I always have. Most of the art in my home is a face of some sort.  Abstract, pop, outsider, or straight up real - I find them easy to live with and good company.     How about you?     A poem by Rainer Maria Rilke   Buddha In Glory     Center of all centers, core of cores, almond self-enclosed, and growing sweet-- all this universe, to the furthest stars all beyond them, is your flesh, your fruit. Now you feel how nothing clings to you; your vast shell reaches into endless space, and there the rich, thick fluids rise and flow. Illuminated in your infinite peace, a billion stars go spinning through the night, blazing high above your head...
